Ground threaded Lead Screws
Ultra-fine ground threads · custom-designed · geometrically exceptional
When standard solutions reach their limits, our ground lead screw drives come into play. They combine ultra-fine thread pitches, maximum form accuracy, and freely configurable geometries into a solution precisely tailored to your application – from concept to motion.
Design advantages at Feinmess Suhl
- Ultra-fine threads from 0.2 mm pitch – for maximum resolution and repeatability
- Custom design – diameter, length, thread form, material, tribology, and function precisely matched to requirements
- All special geometries – enabled by optimized precision grinding processes

Material and Design Features
- Ground trapezoidal thread Tr8x1.5 – high precision with lead error <0.010/100 mm and wobble error <0.003 mm, centered on both sides
- Stainless steel spindle – corrosion-resistant, non-magnetic, hygienic
- Copper-tin bronze nut – self-lubricating due to excellent sliding and emergency-running properties, low wear
- Low-backlash assembly with <0.01 mm axial play – for precise, backlash-free linear motion
- Lubricated with special grease – friction-optimized for especially smooth-running, low-wear motion
- Special versions (lengths, leads, materials) available on request
Applications
Used in precision measurement technology, laboratory and medical technology, optics and sensor technology, as well as in compact actuators for automation and robotics, where precise, low-backlash linear motion is required in a small installation space.
We offer a wide range of customer-specific configurations – from geometry to material and lubrication, all the way to the finished assembly.
